Soft Landings, Solutions for Seniors lead managers are often asked, “what do I do with all my stuff?” Many of our lead move managers work with Estate sale professionals and buyers of valuable non-antique items. As a team, we are cautious to keep a minimal trash footprint. As professionals, we understand the attachment many seniors have to items collected over the years; it can be very emotional. When downsizing a household, we concentrate on family gifting, estate selling, donating, and recycling.
Professional help with downsizing is a relatively newer service. If not given to family members, families donated charitably in the past. Signed, Sealed, Delivered TV show was one of my favorite shows years ago. The premise was a group of postal workers who oversaw finding the owners of letters not received and forwarded back to the Postal Service. As you can imagine, there was much drama and to do about the search process for the letter’s owner.
